FAQ
Your test submission is made anonymously and we do not store your results.
Our online tests are designed to help you understand if you or your child could benefit from an assessment with our service. The questions included in the tests are the same questions that our psychologists would ask you if you phoned the office seeking advice. They will help guide you when thinking about your next steps, which may include booking an assessment, but may also mean exploring a different diagnosis or explanation for your difficulties.
Each test consists of five questions, which take no longer than a few minutes to complete.
Our office can answer any questions you might have about your test results, and if you’d like to book an assessment, we generally have appointments available immediately. Alternatively, if your test results indicate that it’d be worthwhile exploring diagnoses other than ASD or ADHD, your GP will be able to advise you on appropriate services available locally to you.
We do not charge you for completing the test. It is a tool designed by our psychologists to assist you with you decision making, ensuring that if you do go ahead and book an assessment, that this is best course of action for you.
Each test has five questions and these five questions are based on the DSM-5 criteria for ASD and ADHD. The DSM-5 is an internationally recognised diagnostic system and it tells us what criteria must be met for a diagnosis to be given. So, whilst a test is not the same as an assessment of a person, going through the criteria with you does help us understand when pursing an assessment is a sensible next step, as well as telling us when either ASD or ADHD is unlikely to be present.
It is really important that you make an informed decision when booking an assessment. The means that you should do so based on clinically sound information that you have read or accessed. There is a lot of inaccurate and unhelpful information widely available on ASD and ADHD and we strongly advise that you only access information from reputable sources. Our test, which has been designed by our psychologists, is a source of reputable information which can aid your decision making.
