Shireen is an occupational therapist who holds a postgraduate certificate in sensory integration; a qualification that is most useful during multidisciplinary discussions due to the prevalence of sensory issues in neurodevelopmental disorders. She completes school observations for The Autism Service as part of the autism pathway, mostly around the Bristol area.
Having qualified in 1995 from the University of Cape Town in South Africa, Shireen has since worked in clinical and academic positions. She currently works part of the week in a special needs school for young people with autism. Shireen is trained to administer the ADI-R and ADOS-2.
