Dr Emma Castell

Dr Castell qualified as a clinical psychologist in 2014 and has provided ASD assessments for The Autism Service since 2022. Prior to this, she worked for the NHS in both a child mental health service and an adult ASD assessment team.

She primarily works online, obtaining developmental histories and feeding back diagnostic outcomes to patients. Dr Castell has expertise in the assessment of ADHD, complimenting her work the service.

Thoroughness of the process to produce the report. Clinicians also picked up other issues not necessarily to do with diagnosis of Autism.

Members of staff were non-judgemental and welcoming. Making them approachable and easier talk to about difficult topics.

The list of behaviours and issue I sent in was viewed by 3 of the clinicians and considered which made me feel that they took me seriously and heard me. I am grateful for the service I received. I knew there is something not quite right with the way I think and act, compared to others, and needed a professional opinion about what it is.

I recommended The Autism Service to my partner, who has since been diagnosed by the service. We both had excellent experiences and felt truly supported by the teams we worked with. Endlessly grateful.
